Alter Bridge / Black Stone Cherry - Anaheim, CA The Grove 4-27-11

It was a great night for Rock n Roll at the Grove in Anaheim, CA. I was ready for a great show with Black Stone Cherry and Alter Bridge. It has been a year since I last saw Black Stone Cherry, and the guys tore it up again. After seeing them a year ago they won me over with their live show. It was witnessing these guys live that put me over the top to not miss a show again. The energy level Black Stone Cherry brings to a show is something else. I think some bands have forgotten how to put on a show, but they bring it. The guys delivered all the songs you would expect including their new single "White Trash Millionaire" and "Blame it on the Boom Boom." They even broke out in a short version of Tom Petty's "You Don't Know How it Feels." I am looking forward to their new CD and I hope these guys get the recognition they deserve as a great Rock n Roll band.

The last time I saw Alter Bridge was as an opening act for hard rockers, Godsmack. Alter Bridge is touring behind their latest release "AB III." The guys started off with the opening track "Slip to the Void" and it set the tone for the rest of the night. Myles Kennedy to me is one of the best singers out there. I don't know how he has kept his voice in such great shape between Slash and Alter Bridge but he sounds incredible live. Mark Tremonti...one thing that can be said about him is...he is a great guitarist. I believe this guy has came a long way over the years. He is truly one of those under rated guitar players.

It has been a long time since I went to a show where the bands got the crowd into the show like these two bands did. It was certainly a great night of straight up Rock n Roll. If either of these bands come near you, you have to check them out. I promise that you will not be disappointed.

Rock n F'ing Roll.
