Frankie Banali Documentary in the Works

Frankie Banali of Quiet Riot opens his personal home video vaults and his life for a rockin' documentary.

Banali is a world-renowned drummer you probably remember from the '80s band Quiet Riot. He was in the band for 27 years and the last 13 he was also the band's manager. His career took a major sideswipe when his singer Kevin Dubrow died three years ago.

As a single soccer dad in the suburbs, Frankie's long hair and tattoos frighten the neighbors, but to other drummers he's a hero. At a crossroads in his life, he must forge ahead and make a new life for himself and his daughter.


Joe Perry Out After Motorcycle Accident

According to the Joe Perry, the lead guitarist for the Boston-based rock band Aerosmith, was injured when his motorcycle was struck by a motor vehicle at 2 p.m. Thursday, authorities said. Perry was struck at the intersection of routes 44 and 105 and was taken by ambulance to Morton Hospital and Medical Center in Taunton, authorities said. A hospital spokeswoman said at about 4:30 p.m. that Perry had been treated and released.


Jackyl Gets Animated for Adult Swim

Who better to pen a song for an animated family of anthropomorphic hillbilly squids living in the Appalachian region of North Georgia's mountains than the Georgia-based rock act Jackyl?

Adult Swim has certainly hit the nail on the head by assigning Jesse James Dupree, along with fellow Jackyl band members, guitarist Jeff Worley, bassist Roman Glick, and drummer Chris Worley, to write an original song to be used in an upcoming episode of the "Squidbillies" animated TV series, currently in its fourth season.


Black Label Society Release Track Listing

Black Label Society will release its new album, "Order Of The Black", in North America on August 10 via E1 Music. The CD will be made available in Europe through Roadrunner Records and in Australia and New Zealand via Riot! Entertainment.

"Order Of The Black" will feature four different CD covers — one for each territory: North America, Europe, Australia and South America/Asia.

U2 Reschedules Tour Dates for 2011

U2 have announced rescheduled US tour dates, having been forced to postpone their tour while frontman Bono recovered from back surgery.

With the singer now on the mend and scheduled to pick up the band's European tour in August, the Irish band have now said they will tour the US from May 21 next year, with original tickets for the gigs valid for the new dates.

Tool's Adam Jones Talks About His Comic Book

Tool guitarist Adam Jones spoke with L.A. Weekly about his first foray into the world of comic books. Jones and horror comics writer Steve Niles are the co-authors of a new limited series that combines Niles' vampire series 30 Days Of Night with The X-Files. Jones said about the collaboration with Niles, "I'm really excited about it . . . We realized we were very much cut from the same piece of cloth -- same age, same interests like old horror movies, comics and muscle cars.


Rob Zombie Judging Short Horror Movie Contest

Rob Zombie has teamed up with Universal Studios for the "Halloween Horror Nights Rob Zombie Film Competition," in which contestants can submit their short horror films for judgment by Zombie and a panel of Halloween Horror Nights team members and horror industry professionals. Films must be submitted between now and August 14th. The top 10 shorts will be posted for public online voting from September 3rd through the 17th, when the winner will be announced.
