Styx Announce Fall Tour Dates

With only a few shows left on their summer tour, Styx has just announced a full 22-date fall tour. The band will kick the autumn dates off on October 14th in Evansville, Indiana and -- as of now -- will wrap things up for the year on November 12th in Atlanta for what's looking like a primarily East Coast-based tour.


Monster Magnet Members to Release Riotgod

In 2007 Monster Magnet's Bob Pantella and Jim Baglino created their own alternate universe under the Riotgod banner, inviting guitarist Garrett Sweeny and the vocalist known only as Sunshine to travel the cosmos with them. Their achieved collective goal is Riotgod, their self-titled debut album containing some of the most energetic, recognizable and high quality hard rock this side of Mars.


Rolling Stones Shopping for Promoters for 50th Anniversary Tour

The Rolling Stones are reportedly talking to AEG Live and Live Nation Entertainment Inc. for a prospective 50th anniversary world tour, which will last the next several years. An unnamed source told that an auction for the tour has been happening for over a month and alongside AEG and Live Nation, are a series of independent bidders.

The Stones 2005/2006 A Bigger Bang Tour currently holds the position as the world's most profitable tour in history, raking in a massive $558.3 million.


Kid Rock to Play Free Show for the Troops

Kid Rock will play a concert in Columbia, South Carolina on September 11th to honor U.S. service members, according to a post at Kid Rock's MySpace page. The show, which is being sponsored by Jim Beam Bourbon, will be free for all service members who present a military ID. Tickets will be available to the general public at Ticketmaster outlets or through a pre-sale beginning today (August 4th) and general public sale starting Friday (August 6th).


Soundgarden to Release Retrospective

The reunited Soundgarden will release a retrospective set, "Telephantasm", on September 28. The band states, "It includes songs from all of our albums and EPs, including 'Black Rain', an unreleased track from the 'Badmotorfinger' sessions. Plus, we are releasing our first-ever DVD which will include never-before-seen videos, and much more.


Def Leppard Box Set and Live CD

Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott revealed that the band is working on their first live album – a CD containing music from last year’s Sparkle Lounge tour. However, that’s not all the guys are putting together. The rocker told us there are talks of a box set and revealed what might be on it.


Steven Tyler to be a Judge on American Idol

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has confirmed rumors that he will join singer/actress Jennifer Lopez and remaining "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson for this season's panel following his band's Las Vegas performance on Saturday.

Speaking briefly before entering a concert afterparty at Studio 54, Tyler said his future plans include recording "a new album and [I'm] probably going to be a judge on 'American Idol'. I'm doing it! What do you think?"
