Today's Video of the Day features the Four Horsemen's "Rocking is My Business" from their CD "Nobody Said It Was Easy." I have always loved this track, and as I got older I liked the CD a lot more than when I first bought it. I thought their "Gettin' Pretty Good at Barely Gettin By" was a better CD and I still rock both of them on my iPod. I always liked these guys. I wish I could just go to my local bar and see a band like this. Just a kick ass bar band who plays some good time shit kickin' Rock n Roll. Unfortunately, they weren't bigger due to some stints in jail by the lead singer Frank C. Starr, and the drummer died of a drug overdose in 1994. Then in 1995 Frank C. Starr was in a motorcycle accident, and died a year or so later. I am glad I was introduced to this band in 1991.
Speaking of some ass kicking music, be sure to check out the Black Water Rising CD. I just posted a review of it today. I think you guys will dig it.
Now on to some other crap, more just venting here...I just read an article that says Pearl Jam told a crowd at a music festival in Portugal over the weekend that the band has played its "last gig" for a long time. I can't tell you how awesome this is. I haven't like that band since their first CD Ten. They haven't done anything all that great since their second CD. I have just never been a big fan of these guys. I don't know if it's Eddie and his short man syndrome or what. I don't like the fact they show up to awards shows and win and then say thing like, I don't really care about this blah blah blah..Or playing shows "for the fans" where they played like 12 dates and the fans had to drive hours to see them at specific shows, or having political people speak before they come out and play encore's at their concerts. That's just a few reasons why I am not a fan of those guys. Before you ask, yes I saw them live in 1997 in Virginia Beach, and the show was pretty cool I will admit, but it's all the other shit that I hate, that makes me not like them. So I say good riddance.
